One of the biggest questions we hear from people is, "Is it safe to do business with a company you found on the internet?" Well let me first of all star off by saying that we hope you were referred to our site from one of our satisfied clients. But if not rest assured your travel plans will be taken care of with the same attention our biggest clients receive.

Some people may feel uneasy about booking their travel with an agency they found on the Internet -- how do you know you can trust them? To address this issue, ask yourself the question "Do I personally know every owner or employee of every retail establishment I purchase from in my local area?" Just because a business may be in your local area does not mean they are any more reputable than a business that happens to be located somewhere else in the U.S. who is doing business via the Internet. In the case of booking travel with an agency you contacted via the Internet, the policies for booking, cancellation, documents, etc., should be exactly the same. The only difference may be whether or not the agency may charge fees for their services or for cancellations. Then again, your local agency may charge fees, and the agency doing business on the Internet may not. Each supplier will charge fees for cancellation after a certain point in time, but you should check with the agency (whether local or not) as to the fees they may charge in addition to this. Our agency does not charge any fees for our services or cancellations.

Another issue is convenience. If you do not have time to actually go to a travel or cruise agency in your local area to plan and book your travel, then there is no difference there. Even our clients who are in our local area do not come in to get information, brochures or their cruise documents. It is much easier and convenient for them to conduct business either via e-mail or telephone, and then we mail all brochures and in the case of documents, we send those via next day/second day air service.

For security reasons, all credit card payment information between a client and our agency is communicated via telephone or fax; not via e-mail.

Many travelers find communicating via e-mail not only convenient, but also even easier than communicating by telephone. If you have a question you need answered, you can send e-mail to your travel counselor and not have to worry about playing telephone tag to get an answer, and your answer is in writing.

The safest thing you can do to protect yourself as a consumer, whether doing business via the Internet or locally, is to use a credit card for all purchases. In the case of travel or cruise agencies, you want to make sure that if you are paying for a vacation by credit card, the cruise line will process the transaction, not the travel or cruise agency. This protects you as the consumer because if the agency processes the transaction, you have no way of knowing whether or not your payment was actually made to the cruise line. And then, you may have no vacation and may be out a lot of money.

All credit card payments made by our travelers are processed only by the suppliers they are booking their travel with. The supplier's name will appear on your credit card statement, not our agency's name.

So, unless you know every company or establishment you make purchases from in your local area, there is no difference doing business with a local company or one that conducts business via the Internet.

We have many happy clients who found our agency via the Internet and booked their travel with us. Probably the best advice we can give you is to book your travel with the travel/cruise agency you feel most comfortable with. If you talk with them on the phone or via e-mail, they seem to know what they are talking about and have offered you a good price, and then if you are comfortable with them, go ahead and book your cruise with them.

One other bit of advice is to not to let the agency that offers the lowest price be your deciding factor. Many agencies offer very low pricing, and in return do not offer any advice or service. Nor are they likely to monitor your reservation for price reductions that may apply after you have booked. That is why their price is low - because they only deal in volume and do not think of their vacationers as real people. We appreciate each of our vacationers and treat them as if they were our only vacationer. Obviously, vacationers are our real business and they are the most important things to us.
